We’ve never been to a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and we must say it sure feels like opening a birthday present a day early…with the largest scissor you’ve ever seen. You didn’t know you wanted it until you had it. And now that we’ve had our first official ribbon-cutting, we must say, just like in our company slogan, it was an experience! One to be remembered.
Yes, the Soda Drop team, were the guests of honor at Soda Drop’s official ribbon-cutting ceremony organized by the Bismarck Mandan Chamber EDC. The event took place on Friday, November 7 amid a group of friends, family and future patrons…hopefully.
Ironically, 11-7, the date of the ceremony, is also Soda Drop’s peak business hours, on most days we’re open. Coincidence, you ask. We think so. But we’ve digressed.
From the Team
We can’t express how proud we were to have a ribbon cutting ceremony for Soda Drop. To outsiders, ourselves included at one time, a ribbon-cutting ceremony may seem superfluous. Like it’s a ceremony without much purpose. However, to those who’ve worked hard to get their business to that point it is more than a mere ceremony. It’s a moment you share with your community. A moment where you’re officially recognized for your hard work. A moment where you’re welcomed to the ‘table’ to ‘sit’ with all the other businesses in the community. It’s the moment where you feel like your business truly belongs.
Now, just like holiday meals with the extended family, ‘sitting at the table’ doesn’t mean you’ll be at the big table. Yes, we may start at the ‘kids table’ with the other new businesses. Which is a fine place to begin. We couldn’t be happier to be here. But this is just a stop on the road. As every kid eventually grows up to become an adult, so too will Soda Drop grow. From there, we share the same goal as many an aspiring business, to get to the big table. Because once we get there, we know what they’ll be serving, it’ll be Soda Drop’s dirty sodas.
