It’s January. The time of the year when businesses slow down from the great peaks experienced in December. It’s understandable. We’re in North Dakota. It’s cold outside. EVERY DAY. Every day it’s cold outside. Many people, even North Dakotans, don’t want to leave the warm comfort of their home unless there’s a good reason. This environment creates an opportunity for businesses. There’s no time to wait for us. It’s innovate to motivate time. Let’s give our current and future fans a reason to visit us!
The Plan
The philosophy is simple this time of year. If we want customers to leave their ‘comfort zone,’ we’ve got to be willing to do the same. This mentality then becomes the goal at Soda Drop. What can we do that’s new for customers and new for us? The easiest answer, at a soda shop, is to release new drinks. So, double check marks on that one for us. Yay! Welcome to the Soda Drop family, Butter Brewski and Maui Maui. Each a standalone great drink and a great addition to our regular menu. We couldn’t be more excited about them, but we felt we could think bigger.
We also felt our fans deserve more. So back to the drawing board for us. Followed by a quick transition to the soda station. After all, the soda station is where we do our best work. Wouldn’t you know it, that’s where we had an epiphany.
An Idea is Born
Our idea became the answer to a question. How do we bring our signature sodas to fans looking for unique drinks to offer their at-home guests? The answer? We create Soda Drop To-Go Kits. A simple way to bring simply the best sodas to those looking to level up their soda experience. We may be biased in that opinion but we love what we’ve made. The To-Go Kits allow our drinks to be made whenever and wherever one’s ready to have Soda Drop pop. Order them for a party. Order them for the office. Order them for yourself. We’re not judging.
Answering our question also allowed us to explore how we can offer our sodas even in places where we can’t be there to make them. Sodas expertly mixed by our crew are a thoroughly satisfying soda experience. Though, what happens if you’re feeling like a dirty soda in the middle of the night? You turn to a Soda Drop To-Go Kit. A brief note for anyone who’s read this far, a routine top performer is B.Y.O.B. (Build Your Own Beverage). When you know what you like, and we have the ingredients, the result is obvious. Kudos to the BYOB fans. We’ve seen numerous exceedingly creative combinations. Perhaps some of these unique creations find their way on a future ‘Ten Faves to Rave.’
That’s Not All
Really, these offerings are only the start. When you actively gather ideas and feedback from your fans and team, good things are bound to happen. For us, it reflects our desire to grow as a business and in this community. It’s the secret to keep our innovation motivation strong. We don’t have to feel like we have to do everything ourselves, even as a small business. We have our team. They’re one of the reasons to brave the winter chill every day to get to work. It’s because you never know who or what will inspire the next grand idea. You just got to be sure you’re there when it happens.
